WEIGHT DISTRIBUTING KITS - WHAT ARE THEY & WHO NEEDS THEM?

Weight Distributing kits are add-on's to CLASS III or higher trailer hitches. Their main purpose is to distribute the weight of the trailer onto all the axles of the tow vehicle and trailer. Their design, which features heavy duty steel bars that flex, uses leverage to push the trailer weight to the front of the tow vehicle and the back of the trailer. The result is a more level ride and reduced stress on the rear of the tow vehicle, which means better steering and brake control. Another benefit of the Weight Distributing kits is increased towing capacity on those CLASS III or higher rated hitches which also show a weight distributing capacity.
